The RECOVER consortium is pleased to announce the publication of the RECOVER Implementation Progress Report, presenting the key achievements and milestones reached during the first 18 months of the project.
Since its launch in January 2025, RECOVER has been working to strengthen the role of sport in supporting the recovery and reintegration of victims of trafficking across Europe. During this first implementation phase, the partnership focused on generating evidence, developing innovative resources and establishing the foundations for the next stages of the project.
Among the main achievements highlighted in the report are:
- A comprehensive European Needs Analysis, involving 150 professionals across six countries and identifying the opportunities and challenges of integrating sport into recovery and reintegration pathways.
- The development of the RECOVER Capacity Building Programme, providing specialised training for sport professionals and practitioners working with victims of trafficking.
- The launch of the RECOVER E-Guide, an interactive multilingual resource offering practical strategies and tools for implementing sport-based approaches.
- The creation of the Awareness Raising Toolkit, supporting organisations with communication resources, factsheets and awareness materials.
- The establishment of the RECOVER e-Hub, an online collaborative platform designed to connect professionals, facilitate knowledge exchange and strengthen cross-sector cooperation.
- Extensive communication and dissemination activities, reaching more than 20.000 people and engaging a growing European network of organisations and professionals.
The report also outlines the next phase of the project, which will focus on piloting the developed resources, expanding stakeholder engagement and promoting the uptake of RECOVER outputs across Europe.
